I have only had the Krups FME-4 12 cup coffee maker for a little while but I have no complaints with it so far. I have not had any of the other problems that some of the other reviews had, but rather it brews great coffee for me as advertised. I prefer this coffeemaker to my prior Cuisinart which was a more expensive and higher end machine.

For starters it is very easy to operate and even easier to clean. While it is not quite as solidly built as the other coffee makers I looked at it was way cheaper. I don't think I'll have problems with the durability but I haven't brewed enough with it to comment on that. That's why I'm giving it a 4 star rating instead of 5.

The only complaint I have is very minor and hardly worth mentioning. The program setting is not automatically shut off after it has been used. If you forget to turn that setting off and do not put coffee in it, then it will turn on without any water or coffee the next night and could run for a long time like that. I haven't tested this for obvious reasons but think this should be changed.

All in all the FME4-14 is a solid machine and a real good choice for someone on a budget. It will brew up 12 cups for you exactly how you like it without all of the distracting features from some of the other machines that you probably wouldn't use anyways.
