We drink a lot of coffee in our house so we needed to find a large drip coffee maker, preferably 12 cups. The Cuisinart DCC-2700 stood out because of the thermal carafe and overall good reviews that we found. We wanted a thermal pot because the coffee tastes better than using a warming plate, which can make it bitter after an hour or so. Cuisinart also builds solid machines, which we know from previous experience.

The DCC-2700 Brew Central as it is called doesn't take up much space either. We are short on counter space so this was important to us. I think it's only a little taller than a foot so it slides right under our cabinets. The carafe is also quite sturdy and seems to be very well insulated. The coffee stays warm for a long time after the brewing has stopped. The spout is well designed and doesn't splatter like some others.

As far as the brewing process it is quite easy. Programming is pretty much self explanatory and there is an option to only make 1 to 4 cups. You can also choose between bold or regular flavor, which we experiment with depending on the type of grounds. It's very easy to clean and the stainless steel doesn't hold fingerprints like some other kitchen appliances you see (our fridge is one of them).

We love the DCC-2700 and highly recommend it. It's one of the best and most hands off coffee makers we've used in our household.
