Simple grinder, fast to use!

I have owned the Krups Fast Touch coffee grinder for several years now. The first time I decided to buy coffee beans and then grind them up I really knew nothing about the process, but I had heard how much better the brew tasted when using fresh grounds. This was my driving force behind trying the Krups grinder out. It looked simple to use and was inexpensive. I can say that I’m not disappointed.

I find myself brewing at least 2 pots of coffee each day so I put a beating on this grinder. It has become discolored a bit but still works great. The motor still goes strong and the blades power through the grounds like nothing. It is also very simple to use. You just put the beans in and figure out how long to grind them (depends on how strong you like your coffee). It took me a little bit of experimenting to get this right but now I have it down. The safety feature is another thing I like as it won’t let you grind without the lid being seated properly. This has saved me more than once.

Spilling the coffee is not a problem with this Krups either. All I do is rap the sides a little to loosen the coffee from the lid and sides, then remove the lid and dump the grounds into your filter. Again, with a little practice this becomes second nature. One thing I will mention is there are not many bells and whistles on this model but in my opinion that is a good thing (less stuff to break). You really don’t need many options when all you want to do is grind some great tasting coffee beans.

Overall I love the Krups Fast Touch and would highly recommend it. It’s inexpensive and lasts a long time, and believe me I use it often. If you want a no frills coffee grinder that won’t cost you much then look no further than this machine.

Good grinder and brewer with a couple flaws

We have been using our Krups KM7000 grind and brew coffee maker for a while now. We finally found a combination grinder/brewer that actually produces good tasting coffee. That is the ultimate goal of any machine but sadly some others don’t measure up.

The Pros: excellent flavor to the coffee, many adjustments and other features to fine tune things, looks like it is well built, and we haven’t had any problems with it yet.

The Cons: the instruction booklet leaves alot to be desired, no end of brewing indicator, bean canister is not easy to empty out, and the pot will sometimes drip when you aren’t careful.

Overall we like the machine but can’t give it a perfect rating. We would buy it again because of the convenience of grinding the beans fresh before brewing. Plus the quality of the coffee makes up for the shortcomings. I recommend the KM7000 if you want a grind and brew coffeemaker that actually brews good coffee.

This Krups is a quality brewer

I have only had the Krups FME-4 12 cup coffee maker for a little while but I have no complaints with it so far. I have not had any of the other problems that some of the other reviews had, but rather it brews great coffee for me as advertised. I prefer this coffeemaker to my prior Cuisinart which was a more expensive and higher end machine.

For starters it is very easy to operate and even easier to clean. While it is not quite as solidly built as the other coffee makers I looked at it was way cheaper. I don’t think I’ll have problems with the durability but I haven’t brewed enough with it to comment on that. That’s why I’m giving it a 4 star rating instead of 5.

The only complaint I have is very minor and hardly worth mentioning. The program setting is not automatically shut off after it has been used. If you forget to turn that setting off and do not put coffee in it, then it will turn on without any water or coffee the next night and could run for a long time like that. I haven’t tested this for obvious reasons but think this should be changed.

All in all the FME4-14 is a solid machine and a real good choice for someone on a budget. It will brew up 12 cups for you exactly how you like it without all of the distracting features from some of the other machines that you probably wouldn’t use anyways.

Great looking machine that brews as good as it looks

For my review I’d like to just list out some of the positive and negative features of the Krups KM4065 12 cup coffee maker. Overall it has many more pros than cons, at least major ones, and we are quite happy brewing with it. Here are my thoughts after using it to brew coffee for the last month.

Pros:

• Has ultra modern, great looks
• Very well built and the top door opens and closes easily
• Easy to fill the water without spilling, which was a problem on our previous coffeemaker
• The water gauge works well and is simple to read.
• Did I mention it brews a great cup of coffee?
• The included carafe pours seemlessly
• Uses #4 Filters

Cons:

• Seems a little expensive for a coffee maker that doesn’t use a thermal carafe
• Programming can be tough to learn and somewhat frustrating, the manual could be written better
• Fingerprints may be an issue on the beautiful stainless steel
• Coffee pot seems a little light and the cover not too durable

Overall I would have to say that I love the Krups coffee makers, especially this 12 cup machine. They have upgraded their prior designs and addressed many of the complaints that their prior coffee makers got. The carafe works wonderful and there is no spilling at all. From my experiences, the KM4065 is a quality coffeemaker. While it still does have a couple of shortcomings which is why I took off one star I would recommend this machine to any coffee lover.
