Brews coffee quickly for the road

The Hamilton Beach Stay or Go thermal coffee maker does a very good job at brewing coffee, which is to be expected. It is well constructed and looks nice on our kitchen counter. The stainless steel is nice and it matches our other appliances. Using the machine is quite simple as the programming really is self explanatory. Your coffee will be ready to go when you are. I love to grab a warm travel mug on my way to work each morning. The fact that they included two travel mugs as well as the thermal carafe is very nice.

Now for a couple of things that I don’t like, though they are minor. The permanent filter that comes with this coffee maker does an ample job but I still prefer a paper filter. I find that some very fine grounds can get through to my cup. This filter is also not that easy to clean and I find it much easier to just throw the used paper filter in the garbage. Again, this is no biggie as I just buy extra paper filters. And while I do think the LCD display is easy to read, the bright blue light is a little too much for my tastes. It really stands out at night.

Overall the Hamilton Beach Stay or Go is a great coffee machine, but I felt compelled to only give it 4 stars since there are a couple minor things I don’t like. I would buy one again though.

Easy to brew with and a cost effective machine

I purchased the Hamilton Beach 3 in 1 Hot Beverage coffee maker a couple weeks ago because I wanted to not only brew coffee but also make tea and other hot beverages. While I haven’t been using it for very long I am starting to like it. It is so easy to use that my kids can heat up their water for hot cocoa, and I don’t have to worry about them doing it. While it could brew a bigger cup of coffee for me I am getting used to the size.

Sometimes I wish it would brew a little hotter too but I just like my coffee very hot. Most people will probably like the brewing temperature though. The flavor is great and is one of the things that I like the most. This is really the most important quality of any brewer and the Hamilton Beach does a nice job at this.

One thing I’ve noticed is it does have a tendency to splash a little as it brews so be prepared to wipe up. I have figured out where to place the cup to minimize this but am still only giving it 4 stars because of this. Overall I like this coffee maker and recommend it though.

Red coffee machine looks and brews great!

We really didn’t have a need for a new coffee maker but on a recent trip to the mall we saw the Hamilton Beach Ensemble on sale and decided to give it a try. The Red color really made it stand out and it brews 12 cups so we thought it would be a great choice.

This machine is very easy to clean and the mouth of the carafe is very wide. This makes it easy to get inside and get those pesky stains out. There aren’t many overly complicated buttons so you won’t need a college degree to program it. The Ensemble is also very light so you can move it around your counter as needed. The brewing speed is good too as I don’t have to wait long for the full 12 cup pot to be filled. One thing that is a small complaint though is when you have 12 cups in there it is really full. Don’t go over the limit or it will overflow. Not a big deal but just remember to not put too much in.

The wide carafe is very nice on the Hamilton Beach Ensemble, and much nicer than ones I have seen in the past. Some cause you to spill on the first cup but not this one. We use a copper reusable filter instead of the paper ones and it works great too. No coffee grounds escape into the carafe. Overall, this is a great coffeemaker for the price. I highly recommend it if you need a full pot every day.

We are loving no carafe on this machine

My wife and I have owned several coffee makers during our time together and we decided to give the Hamilton Beach BrewStation Plus a try. We both love to drink our coffee in the morning, especially when it is just brewed. We have owned several different brands and some of the coffeemakers were quite good. Most had one quality that we did not like though, a glass carafe. No matter what we did we always ended up breaking it and looking for a replacement. This machine took care of that problem.

We also had a machine that came with one of those modern insulated carafes which really didn’t cut it at all. Sure the coffee is insulated from the elements but it is also shielded from the warmer so unless you drink it fairly fast it just didn’t stay warm enough for our tastes. Well, not only does the Hamilton Beach Brew Station not have a carafe to break apart it also brews very tasty java every morning. This is really the most important quality and a reason we are such a big fan.

One thing we have learned from using it is to follow the owner’s manual in the recommendation to descale the machine as needed. If not the coffee maker will not feel up to brewing your coffee when you need it. We do this monthly and have found that we have no problems on this schedule. It really will depend on your water quality but for us it’s every month.

All in all this is a great coffee machine and one we highly recommend. The price is right as well. You can find good deals online so it helps to look around a bit before buying. We got free shipping from amazon.com.
