Very happy with this drip coffee maker

I bought this Delonghi DC59TW 12 cup drip coffeemaker to replace our old burnt out percolator. I looked around for another percolator but couldn’t find the same machine so I chose this drip one instead. It was on sale when I bought it and it already came with the gold filter basket that I wanted. This was a real plus since some of the other machines I looked at would make you buy the gold filter basket extra.

Once I took it out of the box it was simple to get brewing. The coffee maker is fully programmable and I find that after the first time programming it I had the process down. It’s very easy to learn. Now on to the flavor.

The Aroma feature is nice because I like my coffee stronger. It seems to make it taste more like a gourmet blend, or something you would get at your local Starbucks. Even though it takes longer to brew with this feature it is worth it and I just have to set it to start a little earlier in the morning.

One complaint I read in regards to this Delonghi machine is really common to all drip coffeemakers, and that is it will be a little messy at times. This is just what you get with this type. A percolator is much better in this regards but I knew this going in. With a little care you won’t have problems with your coffee burning or with the dripping. Overall I recommend it because for the price (which is pretty cheap) it brews some great tasting coffee.

Pretty decent coffeemaker for a low price

I just bought the Delonghi DCF212T 12 cup coffee maker and have a couple of thoughts about it. First, it is a very beautiful machine that is easy to fill, brew, and pour coffee from. It fits nicely under my cabinets and I don’t have to pull it away from the wall to start the brewing process which is a bonus. I also like the fact that it comes with a permanent filter as I do not have to worry about it like my prior coffee makers.

Unlike some other reviews I read, I have not had any burning or dripping problems with this machine. I am happy with the flavor of the coffee it brews and it seems hot enough for me. Others had said that it wasn’t hot enough but it is hot enough for my tastes. If you like your coffee scalding hot then this probably isn’t the coffeemaker for you. The Delonghi DCF212T brews it fairly hot but not scalding. You can begin drinking as soon as you pour it out.

There is not reheating option with this coffee maker either. I find that I have to throw out coffee every day as I never drink the full 12 cups. It doesn’t take that long to brew and I like my coffee fresh anyways but it would have been nice to have this feature. Overall it is a good machine and I can’t argue with the price.

Good tasting coffee but a machine with flaws

We purchased the DeLonghi Esclusivo DCM485 10 cup coffee maker several months ago as we needed a new machine and wanted to try out a thermal carafe for a change. DeLonghi has a good name in the coffeemaker industry so we decided to buy one of their popular products. Not so sure that was a good idea.

For starters, there are some positive features for this coffee maker. It does brew very delicious coffee and the thermal pot keeps it quite warm for hours. We have left the carafe out all day and still had warm coffee that night. That is quite remarkable and a nice change from our prior machine. Also, the water reservoir is easily removed and simple to fill. No complaints in that department.

Now for the negatives and these are big. The lid seems to regularly get clogged up in the small holes on top. If you are not right there when it happens you will come back to a nice mess on the counter. We find that if we don’t make 100% sure the holes are clean each time that this will happen. Additionally, the clock is not very intuitive to use. We have a hard time setting the timer and have woke up to find that it didn’t begin brewing when we wanted. That is quite annoying to say the least. Once you get the timer where you want it, it’s best to just leave it alone or you will mess it up.

While the Delonghi does brew very good coffee and keep it warm for a long time, the other problems we have with it keep us from recommending it with a glowing review. It’s ok for the money but not the best there is out there. Hopefully they address the problems with the Esclusivo as it is a gorgeous machine.

Brewing the best coffee I have ever tasted

I have now owned my DeLonghi DC514T Esclusivo 14-Cup Coffeemaker for 5 months and I can say that it brews the best tasting coffee I have ever had. I think it has something to do with the slow brewing process and charcoal water filter, but the fact that it tastes so good is really why I love it.

It also has a very small footprint on my counter, much smaller than I would have thought a 14 cup drip coffee maker would take up. The modern design is attractive and I find it easy to program for even someone as technically challenged as myself. The coffee pot has a large pour spout but doesn’t make a mess when I pour it. I really have no complaints with it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a full sized drip coffeemaker that is completely programmable.
