I wanted to buy a coffee maker with a thermal carafe for better flavor and the fact that it keeps the coffee warm for long periods. I looked at several machines and decided on the Cuisinart DCC-1150 in black and really like it. This machine really does everything I need it to and then some. Not having to leave the coffeemaker on to keep everything warm is a big plus and one less worry when I can’t keep an eye on it. It simply turns off when the brew cycle is finished and the thermal carafe keeps the coffee just the way I like it, nice and hot. It doesn’t even need a warming plate.
Some reviews I read noted a couple complaints and I must agree on them. The design of the carafe makes it hard to completely empty it without spilling. I would like to use the carafe to fill up the water tank but this just isn’t possible. It also pours pretty slowly due to the spout. I’m guessing that this design is part of what keeps the fluid inside so warm because no air can escape. I just wish it didn’t make it hard to pour. I have to dock it one star for that. I will say though that I have left coffee in it for over three hours and when I came back it was still warm enough to drink. I love this as I don’t drink my cup very fast.
I like the way this machine looks too. It’s a little bigger than my prior coffee maker but it fits nicely on my countertop. It has a modern look to it so I don’t mind if it is left out when I’m not brewing with it. Overall I really like the Cuisinart DCC-1150BK and would definitely buy it again if needed.

This coffee maker worked very well for about the first year we had it. Then we started having problems where it didn’t always brew when you turned it on, or you would turn it on and an hour or so later it would start brewing. I have been researching this problem and have found it to be quite a common occurence with this Cuisinart. If the unit is under warranty they may ship you a refurbished machine for $10.00 plus you need to pay the return shipping on the defective unit. If the unit is out of warranty, you are out of luck. I would not recommend the Cuisinart DCC-2000 coffee maker to anyone who expects to have it much longer than a year as that seems to be the average it lasts before having problems.

When you drink 5 cups of coffee everyday then you really need a coffee maker that performs like your best friend. For me, the Cuisinart DCC-2600 is that as it is always there to brew what I need when I need it, one great pot after another. I have always had Cuisinart machines because simply put, they are the best. I like the DCC-1200 but I wanted to step up to 14 cups and this one is perfect.
I find that the coffee always tastes great. It is very consistent in the brewing process which results in the flavor I like. While it isn’t the fastest machine that doesn’t matter to me, what matters is results. And since it is programmable I can always just set it the night before and forget it but I usually don’t do that. For some reason I like to be there when it is brewing as I love the aroma. This coffeemaker also doesn’t make a splash mess like some other machines that I read about. Other reviews mentioned this as well so I thought I would note it.
The appearance of this is nice as well. It looks great on my counter and really looks like it will hold up to a lot of use. This is good because I brew at least one pot each day. The gold filter is also a nice touch but I’m not sure how much better it works over the simple paper filters. I use filtered water which might make a difference too.
Overall I love the DCC-2600 Brew Central. It hasn’t let me down yet and I don’t expect it to. If you are a major coffee drinker and want a full sized 14 cup brewer then this is your choice. I won’t buy a different coffee maker ever again.

WHERE DO I START?! My first Cuisinart coffee maker was the “coffee on demand” model. It quit working about 16 months after purchasing. Cuisinart replaced. The replacement quit working after 24 months. Cuisinart would not replace as the warrant only covers 3 years from the original purchase. They basically don’t make a product that can last longer than three years so the 3 year warranty guarantees you will have a working coffee maker for 3 years (less the time you have to be without while shipping back and awaiting for the replacement). If Cuisinart stood behind their product, the warranty should start over with each new coffee maker especially for warranty replacement. This would encourage Cuisinart to make a product that would last at least three years.
Now, my experience with the model above. Had always wanted a grind-and-brew coffee maker but usually they are quite expensive. Found the model above on sale for $100. Decided I would give Cuisinart another try, despite my bad experiences with the “coffee on demand” model. Bought the model above and after only 3 months it has now quit working. Use the coffee maker 5 days a week and clean it thoroughly after each use. The coffee tastes great, but I bought a $20 Mr. Coffee machine back in 1989 and it still works but I gave it to my neice when I bought the pricey Cuisinart. Another thing I don’t like about this model is that it has a heating element but it doesn’t stay on after the coffee has brewed. While it has a thermal carafe that is supposed to keep the coffee hot for a long time, if you are making a full pot of coffee and don’t drink it immediately, the coffee becomes luke warm at best. For people that use cream, the coffee will be completely cold after adding the cream. Am sure Cuisinart designed the hot plate to shut off this way so the coffee would not get scalded, but still. If I am having guests over, the coffee needs to be served hot, not cold or luke warm. Another problem is the design of the carafe. It is practically impossible to pour the coffee into a cup and not spill it, especially when the carafe has that last cup of coffee in it. Once you turn the angle of the carafe sharply downward, some coffee splashes, maybe from the decanter lid and misses the cup. This is my own fault after having such a bad experience with the first Cuisinart and then I read bad reviews before buying this product. Most of the complaints on the grind-and-brew model were about difficulty to clean. Knew with the added grind function there would be more pieces to clean. After getting this model, cleaning it didn’t bother me. My biggest complaint is that it just doesn’t last. Let me be unequivocal: I SWEAR ON MY MOTHER’S GRAVE, THIS IS THE LAST CUISINART PRODUCT I WILL EVER BUY!

I had always wanted a programmable thermal coffee maker that actually made hot coffee. This Cuisinart programmable automatic brew coffee maker fit all of my requirements, although after reading the reviews I became concerned about the lid and decided to not purchase it. After searching through various stores I came upon it on display and I played with the lid for approximately 20 minutes and I could not get the lid on straight no matter how hard I tried.
I would of moved on and searched for a different machine but I found it on display in another store so needless to say out of pure curiousity I tried the lid again. It surprisingly went on perfectly straight with no problems at all. I decided to take a chance and purchase it. Once I got it home I found the lid so easy to open and close and it is placed on perfectly everytime. I use the timer option on it everyday and set it for bright and early. Virtually everytime I use it the coffee is wonderful. Surprisingly when I arrive home from work between 4pm and 5pm the coffee is still warm, thanks to the thermal pot.
I really enjoyed this coffee maker until it overflowed, all over my kitchen counter, 12 cups of hot coffee and the grounds everywhere twice in a row! I eventually figured out what happened. There is a tiny button underneath the filter that comes down when you remove the carafe to get a cup of coffee while it is still brewing. That button normally stops the coffee flow through the filter while you grab the first cup. You must make sure that when you place the pot underneath the filter that the top of the carafe pushes that little button. Everytime I have done that it has never overflowed again. I really enjoy this coffee maker.

The quality of the coffee made is one of the most important features of any coffee maker. I have experimented with several coffee makers from the pod styles to the ground styles and I can honestly admit that the Cuisinart Cup-O-Matic single serve brews a delicious cup of coffee. The coffee made is very consistant with the quality and and it is always served hot. We as Americans tend to enjoy the larger 12 oz cup which this maker provides. You can chose from two different size options including the 12 oz size for the larger mug or travel mug or the 4 oz size for your standard cup. It comfortably fits 2 pods or 3 large scoops of ground coffee. There is also an option for a bold cup and it does deliver a great bold flavor, in my opinion. This machine is constructed with a compact design and fits well on a coounter top with out taking up much space. This has quickly become one of my favorite coffee makers.
One of the negative features of this coffee machine is that it as constructed in China so the durability over time is anyones guess. The next negetive I found was the inner basket was constructed of stainless steel while the outer basket holder is constructed of some type of white metal. I have only owned this coffee maker for a very short time and have noticed that it is already pitting a little bit.
If you happen to be searching for the most delicious cup of coffee in a single serve machine than look no further than the Cuisinart SS-1 Cup-o-matic. I rated it a four out of five due to the previous mentioned negetive features. Good luck with your search for the best cup of coffee.

I got the Cuisinart DCC-2000 12 cup coffee maker delivered to my house not long ago and the very first pot that I brewed was great. The previous coffeemaker I owned took a while to get used to and would never really brew it the way we liked it. The consistency of the flavor just wasn’t there but I’m happy to say that this Cuisinart is very consistent. The machine also looks awesome on my counter top as the stainless steel blends right in with our other appliances. I would describe it as looking very commercial but having an affordable price tag.
Not everything is great though and there is a reason that I give it 4 stars and not a perfect rating in my review. I like to use a travel mug on my way to work and I just can’t get it under the dispenser. There isn’t enough room as the coffee maker is currently configured. While I can brew it into the pot I would like to have the option of putting some coffee right into the mug to save on the cleaning up. One other complaint I have with the DCC2000 is the gauge that is used to display the coffee level really is not a quality item. It just doesn’t look like it belongs on one of the coolest looking coffee makers you can find. While there are a couple of faults I still recommend it to others, especially for the price.
Overall, I give it a 4 star rating. Could be better but there are many other machines that are worse. And I trust Cuisinart to build a quality coffee maker.

We recently purchased the Cuisinart DGB-500BK grind and brew coffee maker and have found many things we like about it. The self grinding feature is great for someone who enjoys brewing fresh coffee grounds. Some of the other reviews we read stated that it was difficult to clean but we found that wasn’t the case. All I have to do is remove the grinder basket and lid and just rinse it under some running water. Wipe it dry with a towel and you are all set. The problem I had with previous grinders is the mess I would make during the process but with this Cuisinart the unit is self contained, while still providing a uniform grinding to the beans.
I like the flavor of the coffee and found that if I follow the instruction manual I get a perfectly strong beverage. One other review I read said the coffee was weak but I’m guessing they didn’t use the recommended amount of scoops of grounds. Sure it takes some experimenting to get the right flavor but that is true of any new machine.
One negative I noticed on the DGB-500 is the shape of the bottom of the filter basket. When I brew less than 4 cups I have found that not all of the grounds will cover the bottom of the basket and this affects the strength of the pot. A cone shaped basket would seem to be a better design. I also do not like the length of the power cord as it is quite short. I always have to move the coffeemaker from the ideal place to one right next to the outlet because the cord simply won’t reach. I would like to see more length, and I’m sure most people would agree.
Overall the Cuisinart Grind and Brew works great and is quite affordable. I have always liked their products as they are a mainstay in the industry of in home coffee makers.

We are pretty happy with our Cuisinart DGB-900BC coffee maker. It brews a full 12 cups of delicious blend in no time. We had the previous Grind and Brew model for quite a few years and decided to buy this one after the other one started to feel its’ age. Some of the other reviews stated large increases in coffee use which is something we will keep an eye on.
This machine is calibrated to brew using what most hardened coffee drinkers recommend or 2 tablespoons of beans for every 6 ounce cup. This is around twice what some of the other home coffee makers use and an increase over the other Cuisinart we had. They must know what they are doing though because the coffee tastes great coming out of this model. You can play around with the amount of beans to grind depending on how strong you like your final brew. We like ours very dark and strong so we use what they recommend.
Cuisinart has vastly improved the overall cleanup and steam isolation from some of the other grinding brewers we have tried in the past. One thing that we like better on this machine is the swing out mechanism that is used for the filter basket. It is very easy to use and seems less prone to problems than the other slide first mechanism on their prior model. I would probably give it 5 stars if I had used it longer but since we haven’t owned it long enough to test its’ durability I have to go with 4 stars. Maybe I will update this review later on after I have brewed a little more with it.

I have read many negative reviews of the Cuisinart DGB-600BC grind and brew coffeemaker so I thought I would share my positive experiences. I have worked as a barista before so I know a little bit about brewing coffee. Now, that doesn’t make me an expert but I think I can give a fairly knowledgable review of this machine.
Here are the biggest pros with this grind and brew coffee maker. For starters, it looks great sitting on my counter. Now this might not be important to everyone but I like a very attractive machine and this is it. The thermal carafe works great with or without the preheating and it doesn’t make a mess when you pour the coffee out. This was a nice change from my prior model. This Cuisinart also brews great coffee, which really is the most important feature of it. I also find that cleanup is minimal which again, is a big difference from the coffeemaker I used for the previous 3 years.
The only negative feature I could find with it is the grinder is not sealed enough to provide ample storage when not in use. It would have been nice if they added a grinder/dispenser where you could store a bunch of coffee beans while keeping them fresh for your next use. This wasn’t a huge deal for our family but just something I should mention, and a reason I didn’t give it a perfect rating.
For anyone interested in buying this grinder/coffee brewer I would definitely say to go for it. If you have a chance to try one ahead of time then that would be ideal but I didn’t have that chance. I bought it because I trusted Cuisinart and had success with them in the past. I’m glad I went with my gut and bought this coffee maker. Once I got the hang of the amount of grinding required as well as found the right beans, the coffee has been great. All in all it’s a winner in my book.
