Don’t brew the whole pot with this machine

I recently bought the Braun KF580 AromaDeluxe coffee maker and am mostly happy with it. For starters, the timer works very good and the coffee comes out quite hot like I enjoy it. It seems to brew a very consistent pot each and every time and I really like the feature of removing the swing out filter basket. It just makes things easier.

However, I do not like the gold tone “permanent” filter as it just doesn’t seem to filter the standard grind that I like to use. I tend to use a standard canned coffee like Folgers. I did, however, get better results after using the different number 4 paper filters. Another thing that I have found that isn’t a big deal to me is the drip will sometimes miss the carafe lid when I get over 8 cups in it. It tends to run down the outside and onto the hot plate. Looks to me like the filter basket can’t handle the extra water but I’m not sure. I don’t drink that much coffee anyways and it could just be user error (problem with the filters I use), I’m not sure.

Overall I give the Braun KF580 Aroma Deluxe a solid 4 stars. It brews pretty good coffee and is very affordable. Plus since it is a Braun you can be confident that it is a quality machine.

Brews fast coffee at a decent price

I bought the Braun Tassimo TA1200 single serve coffee maker online at Amazon.com and really like it. One reason I decided to buy one of these coffee makers is to save money from my recent crush on Starbucks Cafe Mocha drinks. Since I work at home I save money on gas as well as the expensive drink that I was paying for every day. One quick shot of espresso in this Braun and I am ready to go. I’m not a huge coffee drinker so I don’t need to brew a large pot so this single cup is just right. It also brews tea, hot chocolate, cappuccino, espresso, or coffee.

I researched as many different single serve coffee makers as I could find and one thing that was common across all of the reviews and ratings I read was that the Tassimo was thought of as a very good machine at an affordable price. While the coffee is not as good as if you were grinding your own beans up ahead of time it still tastes good enough for me. Since I’m just brewing one cup per day I have experimented to get it just right. I have tried a variety of discs for the machine and found the Gevalia espresso one works good. The Maxwell House coffee disc is also quite good and very cheap.

Another thing I like is it will accommodate a travel sized mug by simply removing the drip cup. The TA1200 is quite easy to clean up as well as everything you need to clean is easily removed. You can either put it into the dishwasher or rinse it in water. And speaking of water you can easily increase or decrease the amount of water that the Tassimo will use, which affects the strength and taste of the coffee.

Overall I like the machine though if I was a serious coffee lover who drank multiple cups each day I might opt for the Keurig. For me though, I saved money and got a great coffeemaker for my tastes.

Very impressive for a smaller coffee maker

My initial impression of the Braun KF590 10 cup coffee machine is that it will brew a very hot pot of coffee in a short amount of time. Since I love to drink my favorite flavor as hot as possible this is a big plus for me. With some of our older coffeemakers we would have to use hot cups as well in order to achieve this. Plus the Braun KF590 has a warmer which does a more than adequate job.

While the brewing of this machine is quiet and quick, once it gets to the end of the brew cycle things start to get louder. It will pop, spit, and let off steam louder than we were used to as we could hear this coffee maker all the way across the house. This is something to be aware of depending on your living situation but it doesn’t bother us.

Another big plus of this Braun is that it is very compact and fits nicely on our countertop. The carafe works great and the heavier basket is a plus as it won’t separate from the shell as easily as our previous Krups did. The programming is easy to use and the auto shutoff works great. Once you use this machine you will no longer need the instructions, which you barely need in the first place.

One thing it does lack is a 2 or 3 cup setting but that doesn’t make much of a difference with us, especially since it brews rather quickly. Overall I think this is one of the best designed coffee makers you can find in this price range with only a couple shortcomings. While I am only giving it 4 stars, the bottom line is that it will brew a great tasting pot (10 full cups) of coffee without any complaints.
